Hello

Hi all, how's it going?

This weekend has been good, went to Lincraft to buy some goodys, you know the usual, YARN. I think I am addicted to yarn. Too much around the house, it is spilling out of the craft room :)

Anyways, I have completed my business cards, printed and laminated, ready to distribute.

I gave some to lady in Lincraft and she took some to leave in the store to give to customers, that was great and I gave one for herself. She was so happy.

Now I can distribute some and hopefully some sales will come thru.

Hope you are having a great day and night.

Thank you for all of you who have posted comments.  I appricate them all, and I do read them all. :)

Long Time no Knit

G'day readers, how are you all? It is 12.30pm here in aussie land, victoria. Nice and warm too.

I have been good, posted a new black, white and tinge of grey scarf on my shop.

Yesterday I thought I would do something different. I have a knitting board and have a project on it but not knitted for a long long time.  So I decided to take it out and complete the scarf.

I completed the scarf today.  It is in lovely soft pink and pink mix in polyester yarn called Fairy Floss.  It is the most softest and warmest scarf ever. I have pics.

Long time ago I completed another scarf on this knitting board, brown with cream color as a contrast, made with a lovely yarn in mix of cotton and acrylic. I just made the pattern as I went along and crocheted a border, which made it heavy around the edges, but its alright, looks really good and is soft warm and comfortable.

Since I find it hard to knit with two needles, I compensate with Knitting Looms and Knitting Board. This board is 10 inches long and the widths can be varied, to make stitches smaller or bigger. Ideal for the smaller projects, like scarfs and hats.

Here is the picture I promised of the lined mobile/cell phone pouch. It is one of may favourites, love the mix of greens. I also completed couple of days ago a hat/beanie in the same color and I am in the process of making a bag in the same color. I will grab pics of the hat and bag later on.

I have a great time making all these, they are fun and keep me occupied and happy.

Here is a pic of Puss and my cockatiel Girly. Today is a warm day, Puss is outside in the shade sleeping away just as cats do. My Mitz, (dog) is outside too, she loves the sun, she is flaked out on the step of the back door.

Girly loves being at the window (in her home) looking out at the backyard. She just loves it, that the first thing she wants in the morning, is to be put at the window, so she can see whats new in the world for the morning. After sun goes she comes to the living room with us, her usual spot for the night.  She won't stop squaking until she is at her window.

Its time for lunch, so I will let you enjoy your night and/or day where ever you are in this big wide world of ours.  :) :] MonikaROSe........

New banner for this Week

Hello readers, just thought I would change my banner on this blog. I love changing it weekly. Cool.

Having a great weekend, its Sunday on this side of the world of Aussie Land and a hot day too, yesterday was hotter in the 30 deg celcius. It is starting to warm, I think this summer is going to be really hot.

I finished the 100% bamboo mobile pouch for my phone with a purple snow flake on front. Looks alright making it with a small crochet hook of 2.5omm, which I am not used to. But I am warming up to it, thinking what else I might create. I will show pic another time when I decide to take more pics of more beautiful creations.

I have started making another skinny scarf, soft silky and warm in the colors of black and white with a tinge of grey. Using two different yarns, one fluffy and the other acylic. Looks good so far. I am loom knitting this one. Have not done loom knitting in a while, since I finished the big purple mix blanket.

Thats all for now, having pizza tonight, cannot wait, hubby working today will be home soon.

Have a great and happy day or night where ever you are in this big wide world of ours.  :)

Thought this pic is cute of my puddy cat Puss. I took this with my 5m pixel camera mobile phone,  angled up and close. Sweet. Love taking photos from different angles, ground level especialy.   :)  :)  :)

SnowyStacker

Hello , I am having a great time here, creating all these snow flakes, that Teresa  has taught us.

I call this shot the snowystacker, t'was so cute when I started stacking them I had to shoot them

I did the bigger ones with 4mm hook and the smaller ones with 2.50mm hook. The smaller hook is new for me, it was the first hook I bought when I started crocheting but I have never used it before, because it is so small.

But I took the first step when I found the new 100% bamboo yarn. This yarn is thin and suggested to use 3mm hook, I only had the 2.50mm, so I thought I would give it a shot and try a mobile phone pouch with this bamboo yarn. Still not done, the stitches are small and it takes longer to make, so each day I make few rows.  Nearlly there, maybe another 4 rows to go.  Then I have to ponder wheather to make a flap or just leave it open for quick access !  Anyways here is the pic.

I have also completed a coin purse that I originally wanted to put into my store but I love it so much I decided to keep for it myself. It was unfinished for a while, all stitched up but no closure for the top.  Yesterday I was in the mood and decided to put a lining inside and a zipper and some hanging charms that I created myself to go with. I love it to bits. Love the texture, it is so soft and a bit fluffy in a dark green color. Great stuff. I am getting used to putting in linings and zippers.

I decided to put one into my favourite mobile pouch. (I do not have pic yet). Not bad, I am getting better and the zipper, found a good way to hand stitch them in. So cool and fun. Will have to get more lining material, there are so coool and funky designs from BigW.

I have couple of new listed creations in my store, check them out. Two skinny scarfts, great colors.

Well for now have a great day and night wherever you are in this big wide world of ours. :)

Copper Wire obsession Continues

G'day

Well the title says it all, my obsession with copper wire still staggers around with me.  I have made a couple of rings, just with the wire, by coiling them around, I make it up as I go along. Thats what I love about it, I am creative and there is no set design, just whatever inspires on the spot as I am making whatever I feel like making.

These two are my favourites. I wear them on my right hand. I tried to take photo with my left, but that was not working out, so I put them on my left hand and got good shots.

Here they are.

I would like to acknowledge publicly, that my friend, Lisa,

from buyhappiness has inspired me to start creating with copper wire, from her love of creating rings. She has beautiful and unique rings in her etsy store, please check them out.

Lisa also sells and makes beads, check them out here and has tutorials on utube on how to create some of these rings .

Lisa is a great talented soul and an inspiration.

Thank you Lisa.

Thank you all for reading and come back soon

Cya for now MonikaRose :)

Have a great day and night, wherever you are in this big world of ours.

Hearts Anyone

G'day readers

I have started on my 2nd sock, the companion to the first one I posted about yesterday, the purple one. Looking good so far. Hard to make the second the same as the first. Pic below [sorry a bit dark], the purple is the sock. I have also started a red scarf made from cotton acrylic blend.

I would like to thank the estsians who helped me reach 50 hearts yesterday. Thank you.

To accompany that wonderful accomplishment, my hubby, last night, bought me a beautiful gift. It is a radio, but with a difference.  It is shapped like a heart, pink and purple with stitchings around where the buttons are.

Do you get it, 50 hearts to one heart of love from my husband. Wow, this will stay with me forever, one heart will be a reminder of 50 hearts on my store. This is so sweet and cool at the same time. Here is a pic. The heart keeps me company, love listening to classical instrumental music. Makes my crochet creations more creative.

Thats all for now

Have a great day and night :) MonikaRose

From slippers to socks

G'day

Well like I said, I turned those slippers into socks, I could not resist. All I did was continue from the 2 rows of cuff of single crochet stitch.  I stitched to about below the calf muscel. I have pic. Using different colored mixed yarn and same hook size. They came out alright, just a bit holy for me. They stretched out a bit and made the stitches more apart. But they are good for first pair of socks.

I think I am hooked. I have grabed another colorway yarn, all acrylic at the moment, but more tuffer yarn. Now what I did, I used a smaller sized hook, 5.5mm instead of 6.5mm and I did more chains  in the beginning, 12 [or 11, I cannot remeber at the moment, will have to soon got to make the other one, two feet you know].  Thus making the sock a little wider and smaller stitches and I extended the height of the sock, just on the starting of the calf muscel, my length really. Also I have decreased on the length, to make the sock stay up.

Guess what?

A perfect size sock for me. Comfortable, good fit at the toes and good length going up the leg, with the sock staying in place. Excellent.  This really is getting me hooked on socks.

But, I need to start and complete the other sock, you know, I have two feet, one sock is not going to help.

Anyways,  I had lots of fun making them, now I can do some for my hubby, who loves my creativity.  I tried crocheting socks before but I could not go through with the heel, to complex from a book. I did make one on a knitting loom, a tube sock, only one, just does not feel right when you do not have the heel.

I have always wanted to make socks, cause this lady, named, The Yarn Harlot, got me all excited about socks, cause she knits so many of them herself. Please go and read her blogg, she is one extremly funny lady. I was very eager. Thus eager and hungry enough that my energy level continued all the way to Teresa (she also has a blog) and she made these slippers you know. Well you know the rest.

Anyways.

I have also but new item in my etsy store, so check it out here

There is few items I listed few days ago too, just have a look around the shop.

It has been a good weekend with hubby, just stayed around the house this time. Had a great time.

That is all for now, have a great day and night

MonikaRose :)
