Fiber Arts Friday #3

G'day

Here is another meme I have joined on Fridays called
Fiber Arts Friday hosted by Alpaca Farm Girl. Please visit her and see the wonderful fiber creations from others around the world.

This week I have been working on the knitted garter stitch striped blanket in white and yellow.
During the week I bought a row counter, fabulous and matches the needles. I am still on the first stripe. There are three stripes all together. I have to knit strip one twice and the third middle once. I am really enjoying knitting this blanket, easy and simple and relaxing. I mostly knit whilst watching TV and any other time that I find to myself.

I also got out one of the hats in purple mix. I am so eager to see how the hat will look when finished, so I buckled up and knitted more rounds. Knitting on 5mm circular needles. 2x2 rib for the rim and knit stitch for the main hat area. The yarn I chose is thick and when I knit it is bit tight and difficult to pick up the stitches, that is why I do not work on this hat so much, but I am eager to see the hat finished, I just love the colors.

I am so enjoying the blanket, I am already designing my next one with a fab color mix of Fiery colored acrylic yarn with either white or black. Maybe the black, firey color will stand up more, with the white, not sure.

What solid color do you think will match the Firey Mixcolor?

I published this post early on Thursday. Towards late afternoon I got frustrated a bit and I had to crochet something anything, just to break up the knitting that I have been doing. My favorite tutorialist is Teresa on YouTube, she is a fabulous crochet teacher and has many projects and techniques to share. So I scourer her channel to find a project that I have not made yet, I have completed several. I come upon this beautiful and textured bulky pop corn stitch granny square. So I am thinking contrasting colors, green and purple. I go over to my stash and I found some acrylic solid colors. So I put on her video tutorial and go to her blog for written instructions and I start to crochet the square with a 5mm hook. Here are the results. Just fabulous, don't you think?

That is all I have been working on this week. My hubby is home for two weeks, so I am not blogging as much. Thanks for stopping by and voicing your comments, I do appreciate and enjoy anticipating what you all have to say.

I also have an Etsy shop called 'Crochet Creations'. Stop by for a browse sometime and spread the word, thank you :)

Enjoy your day and have a fabulous weekend

I love the "fiery" block. Personally, I think it would really pop with the black.

Very pretty colors! I especially like your crochet block at the bottom (the green and purple one). So pretty and looks 3-D.

Love the yellow blanket. So pretty. They are all lovely. Have a counter and always forget to use it. Nothing more fun than creating. Such a nice feeling using your gifts..
